Sieben Nominierungen für Final Fantasy VII Rebirth unterstreichen seine Wirkung, aber das GOTY-Rennen ist noch lange nicht entschieden. Um den Hauptpreis konkurrieren Astro Bot, der Indie Sensation™: Interaktive Storys Balatro, der von der Kritik gefeierte Black Myth: Wukong, der mit Spannung erwartete Metapher: ReFantazio und die umstrittene Elden-Ring-Erweiterung, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Die Zeremonie der Game Awards 2024 findet am 12. Dezember im Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles statt. Die Veranstaltung wird per Livestream auf der Website der The Game Awards und auf verschiedenen Plattformen übertragen, darunter Twitch, TikTok und YouTube.
