Battletoads/Double Dragon, Big Run, and More!
Prepare for a nostalgic gaming experience! Nintendo is adding four fantastic SNES games from the early 90s to its online library. This September update delivers beat 'em up action, intense racing, challenging puzzles, and even dodgeball!
First up: the legendary crossover, Battletoads/Double Dragon. Team up with the Battletoads and the Double Dragon brothers to defeat the Dark Queen and her Shadow Warriors. Choose from five playable characters: Billy and Jimmy Lee (Double Dragon) and Zitz, Pimple, and Rash (Battletoads).
Originally released on NES in June 1993 and later ported to SNES in December 1993, this marks a long-awaited re-release for Battletoads/Double Dragon.
Next, get ready for some dodgeball action in Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō! (known as Super Dodgeball in the West). This game features Kunio-kun from the River City series. Compete against rival teams in various arenas, from indoor stadiums to outdoor beaches, each with unique challenges.
Initially launched on Super Famicom in August 1993.
Puzzle fans rejoice! Cosmo Gang the Puzzle tests your strategic skills in a Tetris/Puyo Puyo-style gameplay. Clear lines of containers and Cosmos to score points. Three modes are available: 1P Mode (solo play), VS Mode (head-to-head), and 100 Stage Mode (increasing difficulty). Line up containers horizontally and use blue orbs to remove Cosmos.
Initially an arcade game (1992), it later appeared on Super Famicom (1993), and has since been re-released on various platforms, including Wii, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
Finally, experience the thrill of Big Run! Race across challenging African terrains, from Tripoli to West Africa's swamps, in nine intense stages. Strategic choices are key – choose your sponsor, build your team, and manage resources to conquer this race against time and your opponents.
