A bus simulator with mod support and expansive cities!
Welcome to Proton Bus Urbano!
This is the classic urban bus version for transporting passengers within cities. The original game launched in 2017—almost five years ago! Since then, our simulator has gained a wealth of new features.
The bus modding system has become more advanced, now supporting numerous animations for buttons, rain effects, wipers, windows, and more. The community has already created hundreds of buses, with many more on the way!
We'll soon release many new buses as mods, several of which are currently in development. Including every bus in the base game would make it massive, and no one uses all vehicles. The mod system lets you keep only your favorites, saving storage. Older non-animated buses aren't in this edition; they'll be re-released as mods in the coming months.
In 2020, we introduced our map modding system—a rarity for mobile games! Creating maps requires a computer, but once made, they run on most Android devices with sufficient RAM.
The original routes remain, but with a strong focus on custom map creation, they'll soon become a thing of the past.
This simulator is FREE with optional extras for PAID USERS. You can play the free version indefinitely; we don't seek payment just for the sake of it. Please only pay if you genuinely love the project and understand its development. Paid users enjoy an ad-free experience and exclusive features like virtual mirrors, cruise control (automatic speed maintenance), 360-degree screenshot capture, and more. Nearly all other features and buses are completely free.
This is more of a simulator than a game. We aren't focused on points, checkpoints, or similar mechanics. Simply choose your preferred bus and drive. As a complex simulator, it offers many controls and settings. We recommend watching online videos or tutorials before reporting issues—many common problems have simple fixes. For example, press 'N' before selecting a gear to move the bus, and remember to release the parking brake. Some settings may cause unexpected behavior; please read their descriptions carefully before enabling them. Certain options work better on some devices than others.
The project is available for PC and Android. PC versions typically offer superior graphics due to more powerful hardware. Many settings can be adjusted to improve performance. A modern mid-to-high-end device with ample RAM (preferably 4GB or more) is recommended. If performance is poor on your device, try older versions or adjust the settings. A known issue exists with 64-bit Unity apps on Android; if you experience low framerates, try downloading the 32-bit APK from our website, which may run faster.
Our focus will remain on core updates, especially modding support. This simulator truly shines with mods—imagine it without them!
You can find mods by searching for "Proton Bus mods" or using the in-game button. Installation requires a file manager app, but the community is happy to help.
Currently, advanced features are tested on a Samsung Galaxy S9, and basic functions on a J7 Prime. It is not recommended for older phones with less than 2GB of RAM, though you can try installing manually via APK/OBB files (with no guarantees). - New mod installer! Installing mods is much easier now: after downloading a mod file, simply tap to share or open it and select the game! This works for most buses and maps (Phase 3 maps or older in this version).
- Shadow improvements (not perfect, but better).
- Added button to disconnect and delete your premium account (as required by the platform).
