Carmen Sandiego is returning to iOS on November 19th
It was taken off Netflix in June
It will be available with all content, including the 40th anniversary mission
Netflix’s bold move into mobile gaming has had its high and low points. While the service still offers some great games, it now feels more like a fleeting moment than a lasting success as many titles continue to vanish.
We all remember when nearly 25 games were removed in June, including Carmen Sandiego and Monument Valley. That’s not the end of it either because popular titles like Civilization VI are also set for removal in the coming weeks. It seems the trend isn’t over yet.
But despite all these changes, there is a big positive to celebrate. The world's most fashionable, globe-hopping mastermind is making a strong comeback! The beloved mystery game, Carmen Sandiego, is officially returning to iOS as an independent release you can purchase. No Netflix subscription is needed to track down those criminals this time.
If you didn’t get a chance to play Carmen Sandiego when it was on Netflix, the game features the main thief turned hero teaming up with A.C.M.E. in an effort to stop the evil V.I.L.E organization. You will travel around the world, from Rio all the way to Tokyo, as you try to prevent the gang from executing a major robbery.
And it’s going to be done with flair. This won’t be just another point-and-click game. Prepare for exploration, espionage, jumping between buildings, using UV and thermal vision, and some flying to get around quickly. Plus, as the franchise celebrates its 40th anniversary, you can also experience a special mission dedicated to this milestone.
Carmen Sandiego is set to launch on iOS on November 19th, with no word yet about an Android version.
