Dune: Awakening MMO Character Creation Now Open
Game Launches On May 20th
Following the release of an epic reveal trailer, *Dune: Awakening* is officially scheduled to launch on May 20th, 2025, for PC via Steam. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will follow at a later date. In the meantime, developer Funcom has opened up the Character Creator and introduced Benchmark Mode, giving players the chance to prepare for life on Arrakis by crafting their in-game avatar and testing system compatibility.With the Character Creator now available, players can fully customize their appearance, including facial features, body type, and attire. Additionally, users are free to choose their home planet, caste, and mentor or class. These created characters will seamlessly transfer into the full game upon release. As a special incentive, those who create a character early will receive an exclusive Frameblade knife skin, redeemable at launch using a unique code.
The Benchmark Mode is designed to evaluate a player’s PC performance and automatically adjust graphics settings to achieve the best possible balance between visual quality and smooth gameplay. The benchmark sequence takes players through various environments, including a desert-based player settlement, the lively Harko Village, and ends with a dramatic encounter against a colossal sandworm.
Priced at USD $49.99, Dune: Awakening will soon be available for pre-order on Steam, offering additional in-game content. Pre-orders include the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, a decorative base item featuring the beloved desert kangaroo mouse from the Dune universe.
