War Thunder Mobile's open beta for air battles has arrived! Gaijin Entertainment's latest update delivers intense aerial combat featuring over 100 aircraft from three nations – with more to come.
While the game previously included aircraft in naval and ground support roles, this open beta introduces a dedicated air tech tree and a focused air combat mode.
War Thunder Mobile Air Battles Open Beta: The Details
Currently, players can pilot planes from the USA, Germany, and the USSR, including iconic aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, Messerschmitt Bf 109, and the La-5. Future updates will expand the roster to include additional nations.
Players can specialize in one nation's tech tree or explore multiple. High-ranking aircraft can be acquired via blueprints earned through in-game events, starting in early October.
The open beta includes a new Aviation campaign, featuring an aircraft hangar for managing vehicles, researching tech trees, and upgrading crews. Squadrons of up to four aircraft can be formed, with customization options for aircraft and armaments. See the trailer below for a preview!
Gameplay and Customization
The aircraft hangar serves as a central hub for managing aircraft, selecting camouflage, viewing the tech tree, and inviting friends to squads. Each aircraft slot offers options to change vehicles, modify armaments, and upgrade crews. Squadrons can be built using any available aircraft, regardless of class, nation, or rank.
