App Store Listings Raise Concerns over Potential BG3 Mobile Scam

A fraudulent Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port has surfaced on the iOS App Store, prompting a warning to players. This fake app, deceptively presented with modified screenshots and a false mobile HUD, is free initially but demands a steep $29.99 monthly subscription fee. Crucially, there is no official mobile version of Baldur's Gate 3.

The app, titled "Baldurs Gate 3 - Mobile Turuk" and attributed to developer "Dmytro Turuk," lacks any mention of Larian Studios or the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. This omission should immediately raise red flags.

Data Theft Concerns:

While visually obvious to many, the app's free initial download may lure unsuspecting users. The subsequent subscription fee reveals its fraudulent nature, but the app's terms of service reveal a potential for data harvesting, including IP addresses and other user information. This isn't an isolated incident; similar Baldur's Gate 3 scams have appeared before.

Currently, this specific fraudulent app doesn't seem to be present on the Google Play Store (Android). However, gamers on both iOS and Android should remain vigilant against such deceptive apps. Larian Studios has yet to announce any mobile port plans for Baldur's Gate 3. While a mobile port remains unconfirmed, earlier Baldur's Gate titles are available on mobile platforms. Additionally, Baldur's Gate 3 is accessible via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Users who have downloaded the fraudulent app are strongly advised to uninstall it immediately. Always verify developer information and check for official announcements before downloading any game from app stores.
