The global version of Atelier Resleriana will cease operations on March 28th, 2025, the same month the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary. While Japanese players advance to Chapter 22 (Part 2), global players will be concluding their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1). The in-game purchase system has already been disabled, but players can still use their Lodestar Gems until the end. Koei Tecmo has committed to providing new content and events leading up to the shutdown.
Adding to the irony, the global version recently celebrated its first anniversary on January 25th, 2024. It's a bittersweet milestone as players now prepare to bid farewell to the game.
Why Is It Shutting Down?
The developers have stated that after evaluating their ability to maintain the game at a satisfactory level for players, they've decided to shut down the global version. The game failed to make a significant impact on its player base. Just a couple of months after its launch, players began voicing concerns about the gacha system. Despite the appeal of the main characters, the gameplay and monetization model, coupled with severe power creep, couldn't retain players' interest.
