Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, has received an extensive gameplay trailer, offering a deeper look into its post-nuclear 1960s England setting. This marks a departure for Rebellion, known for its Sniper Elite franchise, into the survival genre.

Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall, while perhaps overshadowed by other titles, generated considerable buzz thanks to its intriguing premise and day-one Game Pass inclusion.

The new seven-minute trailer establishes Atomfall's setting: a 1960s England devastated by nuclear catastrophe. Fans of Fallout and STALKER will find familiar elements, including exploration of quarantine zones, villages, and research bunkers, resource scavenging, and survival against robotic and cultist enemies, as well as hazardous environments.

The trailer highlights a range of gameplay mechanics. While the showcased weaponry initially appears basic (cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, bolt-action rifle), the trailer emphasizes weapon upgrades and the possibility of discovering additional firearms. Crafting plays a key role, allowing players to create healing items and combat tools like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating supplies and crafting materials. Finally, the trailer showcases a skill tree system with four branches: melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.

Atomfall launches March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass immediately. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon.
