The Battle of Polytopia Brings a New Game Mode Called Weekly Challenges

The Battle of Polytopia has injected a fresh dose of excitement into its gameplay with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, a new competitive feature for its 4X strategy enthusiasts. This addition aims to shake up the usual randomness of the game and provide players with a structured way to test their strategic prowess. Let's delve into how this new feature is set to change your gaming experience.

Previously, The Battle of Polytopia was known for its unpredictable nature, with varying enemies, resources, and maps that kept players on their toes. However, with the latest free update, the game introduces a more organized competition format. Every week, players are presented with the same map, the same tribe, and identical gameplay conditions. The challenge? Achieve the highest score possible within a strict 20-turn limit. You'll have one shot per day, allowing for a maximum of seven attempts each week.

One of the exciting aspects of Weekly Challenges is the opportunity to experiment with tribes you may not yet own. The game boasts a total of 16 tribes—four included in the base game and twelve additional tribes available for purchase between $1-4 each. However, in the Weekly Challenges, everyone competes using the same tribe, regardless of ownership, leveling the playing field for all participants.

Will these Weekly Challenges elevate the thrill of The Battle of Polytopia? I certainly believe so. Furthermore, the new mode integrates a League system, starting everyone off in the Entry League. Your performance each week determines your movement within the leagues—the top third of players advance, the bottom third drop down, and those in the middle maintain their position. As you progress, the difficulty level scales accordingly. From Easy AI opponents in the Entry League, you'll eventually face off against Crazy difficulty bots by the time you reach the Gold League. Miss a week? No worries—you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of others.
