Author : Nicholas Jan 26,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his strategic title, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite game serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's successful 2020 release, Herodom. Developed over approximately two years by the part-time developer, Battledom represents a refined vision of his original concept for Herodom.

Battledom introduces dynamic RTS combat mechanics, offering players the freedom to maneuver units across the battlefield. Players directly target enemies and manually operate siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations further enhance the gameplay experience.

Players utilize in-game currency to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. Customization is key; players can equip units with various weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats such as attack power, range, accuracy, and defense.

Quarry with stones in buckets and an elevator lifting a bucket of stoneResource gathering is crucial. Players collect materials like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft these upgrades at specialized workshops, such as the blacksmith or magician's shop.

Frenken's previous title, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating, showcasing its popularity. Boasting over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles, Herodom also features farm customization with unlockable crops, animals, and character appearances.

iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and further details, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. Additional games by Frenken are available on the App Store.
