After completing the main quest of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the game's vast open world remains open for exploration. You can continue to dive into the rich tapestry of Feudal Japan, engaging with all the side content that wasn't completed during your initial playthrough. The game ensures that finishing the main quest does not restrict access to any of this additional content.
Moreover, post-launch, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will introduce new weekly challenges via the Animus, providing fresh activities even after achieving 100% completion.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained
Rolling the credits doesn't necessarily mean the end of the story in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In my playthrough, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, I hadn't yet unlocked the trophy for completing Act 3 or The Epilogue. To experience the true ending, you must finish the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. After that, return to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko to unlock the complete ending and the associated achievements.
Additionally, exclusive gear sets themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke become available towards the end of the game. These sets come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist's distinct playstyle, and their designs are a nod to long-time fans of the Assassin’s Creed series.
The endgame content allows players to continue leveling up to the game's maximum level cap even after the credits roll.
What’s Next For Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
While the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows concludes at launch, the game will continue to evolve. New content will be added through the Animus, and the in-game store will likely see updates with new items. Additionally, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is scheduled for release later in 2025. This DLC will transport players to the Island of Awaji and offer over 10 hours of new content.
