Revealed on January 16th, The Blood of Dawnwalker offers players the role of Coen, a Dawnwalker – a protagonist unlike any other. Narrative director Jakub Szamalek describes Coen as an emotional and vulnerable young man, a departure from typical game protagonists. Coen finds himself pitted against Brencis, an ancient vampire who has subjugated Vale Sangora, a fictional 14th-century Medieval European setting. His mission: save his family within a 30-day, 30-night timeframe. While the game operates on a unique time scale, players can expect extensive gameplay hours.
The reveal trailer showcases Coen's vampiric abilities, including superhuman agility and magical prowess. While many questions remain, Rebel Wolves addressed some common queries via their official Discord server.
Dawnwalkers, explained Rebel Wolves, are not simply hybrids; they represent a distinct entity between human and vampire. The game's magic system, unlike typical fantasy fare, focuses on the occult – rituals, amulets, and summonings, rather than flashy spellcasting.
