Brok the InvestiGator, the action-adventure game starring a certain reptilian detective, is getting a festive visual novel spin-off! This free, hour-long prequel, titled Brok Natal Tail Christmas, offers a heartwarming Christmas story, a departure from the main game's beat 'em up style.
The game follows Graff and Ott as they navigate a twisted version of Christmas, "Natal Untail," in their world of Atlasia. Despite the corrupted holiday, they manage to find genuine Christmas cheer with a little help from Brok himself.
While not a full-fledged game, Brok Natal Tail Christmas introduces Cowcat's new Brokvn Engine and explores a completely new genre for the developer. Considering it's free and offers a unique Christmas experience, its short playtime is easily forgiven. The decision to branch out into visual novels is commendable.
There's little downside to trying this point-and-click adventure. Unless you actively dislike visual novels, this is a fun, festive diversion.
