Neowiz and Gamfs N have just launched the first major content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update adds a sizzling twist to the game, transporting players to a serene Japanese winter hot spring filled with swordfighting action and classic BrownDust2 challenges, not to mention a touch of monkey mischief that brings a humorous and wild element to the gameplay.
BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training
The Onsen Training update introduces three fresh faces to the game. Ventana, the story's protagonist, along with Liberta, are now available as playable characters through the pickup draw. Meanwhile, Blade remains exclusive to the narrative, adding depth to the storyline.
Set within the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, the Onsen Training event story unfolds across 30 battles, evenly split between 15 normal and 15 challenge modes. The narrative follows Ventana, the captain of the Kendo Club, who, after a devastating loss to a new student named Justia, seeks to restore her honor. She heads to a snowy mountain hot spring known for its ability to boost physical strength, but her plans are thrown into disarray by the playful Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
Ventana's fortunes change when she is saved by Blade, a legendary Kendo Club alumnus, who turns down her plea for swordsmanship lessons. Enter Liberta, the hot spring manager, who pledges to assist Ventana in winning over Blade for training.
There’s a New Mini-Game
The update also introduces Onsen Tile Tactics, a new mini-game where players race against time to clear tiles. The event story progresses through phases, starting with "Legendary Graduate" in the first week and culminating with "Beyond Legend" in the third week.
Players will encounter both returning and new bosses throughout the event. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss, while the third week introduces the formidable Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a giant monkey that becomes more powerful when attacking enemies with damage-over-time effects. Additionally, the Guild Raid boss Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut, challenging players with its property-less devastating attacks and requiring numerous chain stacks to defeat.
Complementing the action, new gear and costumes are up for grabs. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, which can be collected until February 13th.
