Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a highly requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed the development of this UI improvement, addressing player disappointment over its absence from launch. While a release date remains unannounced, its arrival is anticipated soon, potentially coinciding with the upcoming Season 2 update later this month.
A recent January 9th update included various bug fixes for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, along with XP boosts for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode following community feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
The challenge tracking confirmation came via a Treyarch Twitter response to a fan request. The feature, popular in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, will be a welcome addition, particularly for players pursuing Mastery camos. The in-game tracker will likely mirror Modern Warfare 3's functionality, providing real-time progress updates on selected challenges without requiring match completion.
Additional Improvements Planned
Treyarch also confirmed work on another significant Zombies improvement: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. This will eliminate the need for players to constantly adjust their HUD when switching between game modes.
In short, Black Ops 6 players can look forward to improved challenge tracking and customizable HUD settings in the near future.
