Devolver Digital is renowned for its stellar selection of games on Android, featuring titles like GRIS, Reigns: Her Majesty, Downwell, and Reigns: Game of Thrones. The excitement is building as another exceptional game is set to join this impressive roster: Carrion for mobile, the 'reverse-horror' experience.
Originally released for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in July 2020, Carrion introduces a fresh perspective on the horror genre. Developed by Phobia Game Studio and published by Devolver Digital, this game is slated for its mobile debut on October 31st.
What’s the Concept of Carrion Mobile?
In Carrion, you embody a nightmarish creature, becoming the horror itself. As a mysterious red blob with tentacles, you slither, claw, and chomp your way through obstacles and adversaries. This game flips the horror genre on its head; instead of surviving the terror, you are the terror. As this amorphous creature, known as The Monster, you start trapped in a highly secure research facility owned by Relith Science.
Scientists have manipulated your DNA in an attempt to control you, but you break free, evolve, and seek revenge. Your mission is to escape the facility by any means necessary. As The Monster, you devour every scientist, security guard, and unfortunate soul in your path. You navigate through vents, break down doors, and use your tentacles to hunt down your prey. Carrion on mobile, much like its PC counterpart, lets you unleash a wave of panic and destruction.
As you progress through the facility, you unlock upgrades that allow you to burst through barricades and grow in size, enhancing your terrifying presence. Get a sneak peek of the game here:
Will You Pre-Register for the Game?
If you enjoy Metroidvania-style games, Carrion is sure to captivate you with its blend of exploration and progression. The game's pixel art style adds a unique charm to its gore-filled world.
On mobile, you can try Carrion for free, and if it captures your interest, the full game along with its DLC can be unlocked with a single in-app purchase. You can pre-register for the game now on the Google Play Store or download it directly on October 31st, the day of its launch.
