A delightful new game, Cato: Buttered Cat, is on its way to Android! The name itself is a clever combination of "cat" and "toast," perfectly reflecting the game's unique premise. Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers at Team Woll did, and the result is a physics-defying adventure! The cat, defying gravity, spins endlessly in a glorious loop!
Initially created for the 2022 BOOOM Gamejam, Cato: Buttered Cat's positive reception led to its development into a full-fledged game. Currently available on Steam for PC, the Android version is coming soon. While the Google Play Store listing isn't live yet, you can pre-register via the official TapTap page.
Gameplay in Cato: Buttered Cat
This puzzle platformer lets you control both a cat and a slice of buttered toast. Work together to solve puzzles, overcome enemies, and explore five whimsical worlds filled with quirky contraptions. With 200 levels (including side quests) and 30 outfits, there's plenty to discover. Bits of the story are woven throughout the levels, encouraging players to piece together the narrative.
The interaction between the cat and the toast is a highlight. The cat uses its agility, while the toast acts as a projectile, launching to help the cat reach otherwise inaccessible areas. The game also features hidden rooms and numerous Easter eggs.
