Fans of The Last of Us were recently left reeling by Neil Druckmann's suggestion that a new game might not be on the horizon. However, a flicker of hope has ignited thanks to insider Daniel Richtman, who claims the next installment is not only in development but has already begun filming, with actors already cast.

Considering Druckmann's previous ambiguous statements, this rumor might hold water. His comment about "no next The Last of Us" could have referred to a sequel already underway. Furthermore, he's employed similar ambiguity before announcements, notably before Part II. However, it's worth noting that Richtman's track record includes inaccurate leaks.
Nevertheless, the existence of at least a concept for a new game is confirmed. Any official announcement, though, might be delayed to avoid overshadowing Naughty Dog's upcoming new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
