In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, side quests like "In Vino Veritas" can be both enjoyable and challenging, featuring intricate steps and nested quests that add depth to the gameplay experience. Let's dive into the details of completing this quest, which involves uncovering the secret behind the monks' wine.
Speak with Casper and Havel
If you decide to retrieve the book from Adleta, make your way to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall during the morning or afternoon. You'll find an open garden where Adleta often spends her time. Before you go, pick five Marigolds. You can either approach Adleta before her brother Hugo arrives or get Hugo's permission to speak with her. Be kind during your conversation with Adleta, explaining your need for the book for Casper. You can either pass a skill check to persuade her to hand over the book or offer the Marigolds as a gift in exchange for the book. Once you have it, read the book from your inventory.
Alternatively, if you choose not to get the book, you can go directly to Havel at his inn in Kuttenberg City. Ensure your drinking skills are up to par and your outfit boosts your Charisma to at least 18. During your conversation with Havel, select the following options to make a good impression and learn about the monastery's secret ingredient:
- Germany. Let’s do it.
- That’s a very fine gift.
- Steinberger.
- It’s missing ginger.
After gathering the information, return to Casper to share what you've learned.
Find the Monastery’s Secret Ingredient
If you decide to complete "Under the Straw Hat," engage in tasks such as removing plants around the vines and moving sacks. After completing enough work, report to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn some Groschen. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and any seedlings you collected.
Completing "In Vino Veritas" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* allows you to progress to other quests or enjoy other aspects of the game, such as collecting badges and dice.
