Confirmed: Marvel Rivals will be getting 2 heroes every 3 months

NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh and exciting for its players through regular updates. The developers plan to roll out an update approximately every month and a half, introducing two new heroes every quarter. This strategy ensures that players always have new content to explore when they return to the game.

In an insightful interview, game director Guangyun Chen revealed that each seasonal update is divided into two parts. The first half of the season will see the introduction of one new hero, while the second half will bring in another. This approach keeps both the audience and the players engaged throughout the season.

Beyond new heroes, Marvel Rivals will also offer updates in the form of new maps, engaging stories, and challenging objectives. Among the characters already teased, Blade, who is not yet playable, and Altron, known from leaks, have been introduced. Additionally, the entire Fantastic Four team has recently been unveiled, adding to the anticipation.

According to the Chinese publication GameLook, Marvel Rivals has generated around $100 million globally, with significant contributions from the Chinese market. Marvel, a powerhouse in the film industry, has made a bold and successful entry into the gaming sector with this title.

Despite the negative experience with Square Enix's Avengers, Marvel Rivals has effectively filled a gap in the game-service genre. The NetEase studio has delivered a high-quality heroic shooter featuring a roster of compelling characters, which has been well-received since its launch.
