How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily farm management. This guide covers finding, crafting, and utilizing Essence Stones of various sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be found within chests located throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. While I initially discovered one while searching for offering items on Floor 60 to break the Fire Seal, chests appear on various levels and biomes. Beware of mimic enemies—they look like chests but will attack if interacted with.

You'll find Essence Stones in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If exploration proves challenging, you can craft them after constructing the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery, a new addition unlocked through a story quest in the March 2025 update, allows Essence Stone crafting. Building the refinery requires:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft various sizes of Essence Stones using Stone and Essence. The required quantities vary by size:

**Tiny Essence Stone**	x5 Stone x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**	x10 Stone x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**	x20 Stone x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**	x40 Stone x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery crafts common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable crafting hub.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics, both powered by Essence Stones. Larger stones provide longer durations.

The auto-petter, using the Animal Sprite Statue (found in a concealed cave near Errol's house, accessible with Dragon's Breath), automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops while an Essence Stone is active. The statue is also craftable.

The sprinkler, using the Water Sprite Statue (located on a small island east of the beach, also accessible with Dragon's Breath), automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius. This statue is also craftable.

Essence Stones will likely have further applications in future *Fields of Mistria* updates from NPC Studio.
