White Day: School Labyrinth Launches Worldwide on Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll has brought White Day: A Labyrinth Named School to its Android Game Vault. Initially released in Korea back in 2001, White Day has achieved cult status for its genuinely chilling horror experience. The Android remake launched in South Korea in November 2015.

Globally, the 2015 version was marketed as White Day: The School. It was developed for mobile by ROI Games (also called Sonnori) in collaboration with Gachyon Soft. A version for Windows and PS4 was later released in 2017, published in the West by PQube.

White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is a survival horror game

It locks you inside a haunted high school overnight and challenges you to survive using only your senses and a flashlight. You take on the role of Hee-Min Lee, a recent transfer student at Yeondu High School. He sneaks into the building after dark to leave a gift for the girl he likes.

However, the school suddenly goes into lockdown, plunging him into a terrifying ordeal. He is relentlessly stalked by a psychotic janitor and tormented by vengeful spirits. Meanwhile, players must uncover hidden truths, work through various puzzles, and find a means of escape.

While many horror titles emphasize combat or sudden scares, White Day builds fear through a tense, unsettling mood. Its shadowy hallways are illuminated only by your flashlight beam. Because puzzle solutions change between playthroughs, you can’t just rely on prior knowledge or walkthroughs.

It Features Multiple Endings

There are nine possible endings, each influenced by the relationships you form with other students who are also trapped. Your decisions—whether to rescue them, abandon them, or use them as decoys—will shape the narrative and determine what terrors you encounter.

The touchscreen controls are responsive, and the game is fully compatible with Bluetooth controllers. If you are a Crunchyroll subscriber, you can download the game directly from the Google Play Store.
