Idris Elba envisions a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action film starring himself and Keanu Reeves. The actor, promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (where he and Reeves co-star), expressed excitement about the prospect to ScreenRant. He believes a live-action adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077, featuring his character Solomon Reed and Reeves' Johnny Silverhand, would be incredible.
Elba's enthusiasm isn't unfounded. Variety reported in October 2023 that a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 project is in development, with CD Projekt Red partnering with Anonymous Content. While details remain scarce, the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and The Witcher live-action series suggests a Cyberpunk 2077 adaptation is highly plausible.
Beyond the live-action possibility, the Cyberpunk franchise continues to expand. A prequel manga to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS, has launched its first chapter in several languages, with more to come in 2025. The manga focuses on Rebecca and Pilar, before their involvement with Maine's crew. Furthermore, a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Blu-ray release is planned for 2025, and a new animated series is also in the works.
