The release of Days Gone Remastered is drawing near, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared details on the exciting accessibility features that will be part of the game's update. A standout feature is the ability to adjust Game Speed during intense moments, allowing players to slow down the action when things get too tense.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, the Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, delved into the various accessibility options that will be available in Days Gone Remastered. Players can now tweak the Game Speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, or even 25%. According to McAllister, this feature is designed to assist players who may feel overwhelmed or struggle with inputs during high-pressure scenarios, particularly when facing hordes of Freakers. With the new Horde Assault mode being introduced in the remaster, Bend Studio aims to make this thrilling combat experience more accessible to everyone.
In addition to the Game Speed adjustment, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility enhancements. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE feature, previously limited to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.
While these accessibility features are set to debut in Days Gone Remastered, Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of them will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features, such as feedback and control customization options, will require a compatible controller.
Days Gone Remastered was announced in February and will include additional enhancements like an improved photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options, along with the new accessibility features. This remastered version of the 2019 post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled action-adventure game centered around a biker protagonist is slated for release on April 25, 2025. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remaster for just $10.
