Deadlock Characters | New Heroes, Skills, Weapons, and Story

Deadlock, released a few months ago, continues to expand its roster of heroes. Six new heroes are currently in development, adding exciting new dynamics to the gameplay. This article explores these new additions, along with a comprehensive overview of existing hero skills, weapons, and backstories.

Deadlock's Latest Update: Six Experimental Heroes

New Heroes, Skill Adjustments, and a Growing Roster

Valve's Deadlock, a highly anticipated MOBA shooter, has consistently held a top spot on Steam's Most Wishlisted games list since its mid-2024 launch. The recent "10-24-2024" update is a major milestone, introducing six new heroes currently available only in Hero Sandbox mode. These heroes—Calico, Fathom (formerly Slork), Holliday (also known as Astro in some skill descriptions), Magician, Viper, and Wrecker—are not yet featured in casual or ranked PvP matches. While their complete kits are implemented, some skills are temporary placeholders, using existing skills from other heroes (for example, Magician's ultimate currently mirrors Paradox's Paradoxical Swap).

The table below provides a sneak peek at each hero's current role and playstyle:

Hero Description
Calico A nimble, stealthy mid-to-frontline hero, designed for flanking attacks and evading capture.
Fathom A short-range burst assassin, specializing in aggressive dives and swift eliminations of key targets.
Holliday A mid-to-long-range DPS/Assassin, relying on precise headshots and explosive weaponry to decimate enemies from afar.
Magician A tactical, long-range DPS capable of manipulating projectiles, teleporting, and swapping positions with allies and enemies.
Viper A mid-to-long-range burst assassin who inflicts damage over time with envenomed bullets, culminating in enemy petrification.
Wrecker A mid-to-close-range brawler who utilizes troopers and NPCs, converting them into scrap and projectiles for their abilities.
