Switch 2-Only Special Room and Enhancements
Revealed during Nintendo's April 2 Switch 2 Direct, Deltarune will debut Chapters 3 and 4 with exclusive next-gen console features. Developer Toby Fox's Fangamer newsletter confirms a unique gameplay space leveraging the Switch 2 Joy-Con's innovative mouse functionality.
"We've created a compact SPECIAL ROOM that fully utilizes simultaneous dual-controller mouse controls," Fox explained. "This unique experience is only possible on Switch 2 hardware." While accessible on other platforms, the room will feature alternative control schemes. Players can transfer their progress from Switch demo versions of Chapters 1-2.
Deltarune's Future Updates: Entirely Free
Fox revealed Deltarune's pricing at $24.99, encompassing Chapters 1-4. While Chapters 1-2 originally launched for free in 2018 and 2021, previously announced paid Chapters 3-5 will now be complimentary updates. "We want players to feel they're getting tremendous value as new chapters arrive," Fox remarked.
The game's soundtrack launches on Steam for $14.99, featuring 150+ tracks with future chapter music included at no extra cost. Deltarune delivers exceptional value by offering all future content without additional charges.
