Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl boasts a diverse arsenal, allowing players to tailor their loadout to their preferred combat style. Beyond standard firearms, unique weapon variants with enhanced stats and modifications exist, and the Cavalier sniper rifle is a prime example. This distinctive weapon features a red-dot sight instead of a traditional scope, making it highly effective at close to medium ranges. Let's explore how to acquire this powerful rifle.
Acquiring the Cavalier Sniper Rifle
The Cavalier can be found within the Duga base, specifically near the Military Unit. It's located in a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously retrieved the Journalist stash in this area, accessing the base through the secondary entrance should be straightforward.
Accessing the Warehouse
Upon entering Duga, navigate towards the Military Unit building (marked on your map). Circumvent the building itself to reach the greenhouse at its rear. Proceed with caution; two Pseudogiants patrol this area and will attack on sight. A stealthy approach is recommended to avoid a confrontation.
Once inside the greenhouse, you'll enter the warehouse. Be prepared for a swarm of rats upon entry. Elevated platforms at the warehouse's rear offer temporary refuge. A grenade is an effective solution to eliminate the rodent threat.
Retrieving the Cavalier
After clearing the rats, examine the warehouse ceiling above the greenhouse entrance. You'll notice yellow-painted wooden boards. Shoot these boards with your weapon to dislodge the Cavalier sniper rifle.
Collect the weapon and safely exit Duga. The Cavalier can be further upgraded by Screw, the technician at Rostok base. Its high damage and accuracy are further enhanced through upgrades and modifications. For players preferring red-dot sights over scopes on their sniper rifles, the Cavalier provides a potent close-to-medium range combat option.
