In a recent developer journal, BioWare has provided a comprehensive look at the PC-specific features of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, set to launch on October 31. The studio emphasized a variety of enhancements tailored for PC players, including extensive customization options, advanced display settings, and seamless integration with Steam's native features such as cloud saves, Remote Play support, and compatibility with the Steam Deck.

The announcement was accompanied by Nvidia's "RTX Announce Trailer," confirming the game's release date. BioWare's commitment to delivering an optimal PC experience is evident, given that the Dragon Age series originated on this platform. "The Dragon Age franchise started out on PC, and we wanted to make sure PC is a great place to play our game," the studio stated. To ensure this, BioWare dedicated approximately 200,000 hours to performance and compatibility testing on PCs, which comprised 40% of their total platform testing efforts.

Moreover, BioWare invested nearly 10,000 hours in user research to refine controls and UI functions across various setups. Players can look forward to native support for PS5 DualSense controllers with haptic feedback, as well as support for Xbox controllers and keyboard and mouse configurations. The game also allows players to switch between controllers and keyboard/mouse setups mid-game or in menus. Additionally, customizable class-specific keybinds will enable personalized control settings. The Veilguard will support 21:9 Ultrawide displays, a Cinematic Aspect Ratio toggle, customizable field of view (FOV), uncapped frame rates, full HDR support, and Ray Tracing features.
