Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Three-Hour Daily Limit
The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test will impose a three-hour daily playtime restriction, running from February 14th to 17th. This limited access will be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications are currently open via the official FromSoftware website.
Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, the announcement of Nightreign, a spin-off title, generated significant excitement. While initially, developers stated no sequel or further DLC was planned after the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Nightreign's unveiling at The Game Awards 2024 surprised and delighted fans.
This network test serves as a crucial step in verifying online systems and conducting large-scale network load tests before the full game launch. The test will allow selected players to experience a portion of the game. The exclusion of PC players from this test is notable, though the final game will support the platform.
Nightreign represents a departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing co-op gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as randomized encounters. While a release date remains unannounced, the network test suggests a full launch is imminent. The daily playtime limit, while potentially disappointing to some, is a necessary component of the pre-release testing phase.
