Star Wars Celebration unveiled thrilling new details for the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu-themed update for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, which will launch alongside the new movie. This update introduces Engineers taking care of Grogu and adds Coruscant as a new destination, joining Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor in this choose-your-own-adventure storyline. Scheduled for release on May 22, 2026, this update promises to take players on a different path from the plot of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, while still featuring Din Djarin and Grogu in new and exciting ways. The story kicks off with Hondo Ohnaka discovering a deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and pirates, leading to a high-stakes galactic chase. Guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to track down the culprits and secure a bounty in this dynamic adventure spanning the galaxy.

While full details are yet to be revealed, we know that Engineers will play a significantly larger role this time, as they will be tasked with looking after Grogu. What could be more exciting than that?

To delve deeper into what fans can expect, we had the opportunity to speak with Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama, who provided some insights into the upcoming features.

"Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the Engineers the chance to communicate directly with Grogu," Kalama shared. "We believe it's going to be incredibly engaging. There might be instances where Mando needs to disembark from the Razor Crest, leaving Grogu alone, which could lead to some fun and unexpected moments with Grogu tinkering with the control panel. We're excited about creating these entertaining vignettes where players can interact with Grogu over the comm."

Regarding the choose-your-own-adventure aspect, Kalama explained, "There will be a pivotal moment during your adventure where you'll need to make a quick decision about which bounty to pursue. This choice will serve as the inciting incident, determining which destinations you'll visit."
