IGN has exclusive details revealing that Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando and Hollywood will feature a new haunted house based on Prime Video’s Fallout series, alongside an experience inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. The latter will be brought to life with help from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, the legendary team behind the film’s animatronics.

While details about the Five Nights at Freddy’s attraction remain scarce, the Fallout haunted house will debut on August 29 at Universal Orlando Resort and September 4 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Fans will relive standout moments from Fallout’s first season and beyond.

Visitors will begin their journey in Vault 33, following Lucy MacLean’s desperate escape from a gruesome massacre while uncovering a dark secret. The adventure then spills into the Wasteland, where they’ll evade attacks from Scavengers, Raiders, and the mutated RAD Roaches. Key stops include the Super Duper Mart, encounters with the Ghoul, and a meeting with Maximus clad in his imposing T-60 armor.

During IGN Live, Universal’s Creative Director John Murdy (Hollywood) and Senior Show Director Matthew Flood (Orlando) shared insights into crafting this immersive Fallout experience. Both emphasized their dedication to authenticity, aiming to make fans feel truly transported into the universe.

“We want guests to step into these environments and instantly recognize them—like, ‘Wow, I’m actually inside a Fallout vault!’” Flood explained. “Where else can you walk through a vault, enter the Wasteland, and come face-to-face with ghouls?”

Murdy added, “The aftermath of nuclear devastation—bodies, mutations, the retro-futuristic aesthetic—it’s uncharted territory for Halloween Horror Nights. It taps into a whole new dimension of horror.”

Notably, the Hollywood and Orlando attractions will feature unique elements, including distinct approaches to the T-60 armor. Murdy revealed, “In Hollywood, it’s a fully animatronic figure—one of the most ambitious projects we’ve tackled.” Flood teased Orlando’s “final battle” setup, hinting at explosive action involving the armor and fan-favorite Filly.

Hollywood’s iteration will also spotlight the terrifying Yao Guai Bear, while both houses are packed with narrative depth—Murdy’s 100-page treatment ensures meticulous detail. “We cater to uber fans,” he noted. “Hidden Easter Eggs will reward repeat visitors who brave multiple walkthroughs.”

Flood hinted at a functional Pip-Boy and encouraged guests to scan storefronts for hidden surprises: “Glance around when you’re not too scared—you’ll spot secrets everywhere.”
