Fantasma: A New AR Multiplayer GPS Adventure Game
Pocket Gamer recently discovered Dynabytes' Fantasma at Gamescom Latam, a compelling augmented reality (AR) multiplayer GPS adventure game. The game's recent update adds Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese language support, with German, Italian, and Spanish planned for release in the coming months.
Fantasma challenges players to hunt and battle mischievous creatures using portable electromagnetic fields as bait. Combat takes place in augmented reality, requiring players to maneuver their phones to keep the Fantasma in view while tapping the screen to shoot. Defeated Fantasma are captured in special bottles.
The Fantasma encountered are location-based, encouraging exploration. Players can deploy sensors to expand their search radius and attract creatures from further distances. Cooperative gameplay is also supported, allowing players to team up for a more social experience.
Fantasma is free-to-play with in-app purchases and is available now on the App Store and Google Play. Download links are provided below.
