The highly-anticipated mobile version of Final Fantasy XIV, a game that transformed from a near-disaster to a critically acclaimed MMORPG, is set to potentially launch in mid-summer. According to a recent listing on the Chinese iOS App Store, fans might be able to dive into Final Fantasy XIV Mobile as early as August 29th.

Originally released in 2010, Final Fantasy XIV faced overwhelmingly negative reviews, leading Square Enix to completely overhaul the game. The result was the triumphant relaunch as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which has since maintained its popularity through continuous expansions and updates. The prospect of a mobile release is thrilling for fans, including our very own Shaun Walton, who has covered all the latest developments on the mobile version.

The big question on everyone's mind is how feature-rich Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will be upon its release. While a late August launch seems quite plausible, there's also a possibility of an earlier release for Chinese players, given that Tencent's Lightspeed is managing the port. A global rollout should follow soon after. According to series veteran Naoki Yoshida, the mobile version has been in the works for quite some time, promising a polished and lovingly crafted experience, judging by the fanfare surrounding its announcement.
