ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition's Impressive Debut: 3 Million Downloads in Three Weeks
ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition, a free-to-play mobile game released on December 18, 2024, has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing three million downloads within its first three weeks. This spin-off of the popular 2017 title, ARK: Survival Evolved, is developed by Grove Street Games and available on iOS and Android.
Despite receiving mixed reviews upon release, the game's popularity is steadily increasing. Its success significantly outperforms the 2018 mobile port of ARK: Survival Evolved, boasting a 100% increase in downloads. Publisher Snail Games announced these impressive figures on January 10, 2025.
The game's strong performance continues, with its ranking climbing steadily on both app stores. Currently, it holds the 24th position among adventure games on iOS and the 9th spot in the top-grossing adventure games category on Android. User ratings are currently 3.9/5 (412 ratings) on the App Store and 3.6/5 (over 52.5K ratings) on the Google Play Store.
Grove Street Games is actively developing new content, including maps like Ragnarok, Extinction, and both Genesis parts, to further expand the game's dinosaur-filled world. This follows their successful work on the improved Nintendo Switch port of ARK: Survival Evolved in 2022.
Future plans include a 2025 release on the Epic Games Store, offering players greater platform choice. While Studio Wildcard recently unveiled a roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, the status of the anticipated ARK 2, which missed its 2024 release window, remains to be seen.
