Wordsmiths, rejoice! A new roguelike word game, Letterlike, is here, blending the best of Balatro and Scrabble. This unique combination of vocabulary and roguelike randomness offers endless replayability.
Crafting Words in Letterlike
Letterlike's roguelike nature ensures each playthrough is a unique challenge, with procedurally generated letter combinations and obstacles. Your objective? Create words, earn points, and conquer levels. Each level consists of three rounds, each offering five attempts (lives).
Strategic word creation is key to accumulating enough points to advance. Facing a less-than-ideal letter set? You can discard some letters, but discards are limited, requiring careful consideration. A handy rearrange mode allows you to manipulate letters to your advantage.
The final round introduces a twist: certain letters become worthless, yielding zero points.
Earned points and rewards unlock helpful items and buffs, enhancing future playthroughs. Collected gems also grant access to powerful upgrades, making subsequent runs easier.
Ready to Play?
Letterlike offers a simple, minimalist, yet engaging experience. Shared seeds allow you to replay specific runs with friends, sharing the joy (or frustration!) of particularly challenging letter combinations.
The game is ad-free with a one-time purchase and offers offline play. A free demo is available on the Google Play Store, so try it before you buy!
