Alkimia Interactive, the creative force behind the much-anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, has opened the doors to a brand-new demo version for select journalists. Originally crafted for Gamescom, this demo is poised to go public in the near future, offering gamers a tantalizing taste of what's to come.
This demo acts as an appetizer to the full game, introducing a fresh protagonist, Niras, in place of the iconic Nameless Hero. Niras, a fellow prisoner, enters the Miners' Valley and engages with its denizens, laying the groundwork for the expansive narrative that awaits.
In 2024, Alkimia Interactive unveiled an exclusive prologue demo at Gamescom, spotlighting Niras' journey into the Colony and his initial encounters with its unforgiving environment and inhabitants. This demo will soon be available to the public, allowing players from around the globe to dive into the revitalized world of Gothic. Both the demo and the complete game have been reconstructed almost entirely from the ground up, promising extended gameplay, enhanced focus on orcs, and a host of immersive features. Fans can look forward to a more enriched and captivating experience than the original.
The latest demo of Gothic 1 Remake will be available on Steam as part of the Steam Next Fest event. It will be free to play from the evening of February 24th until the evening of March 3rd, after which it will no longer be accessible. The full release of Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for later this year on PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
