CEO Strauss Zelnick voiced his confidence in meeting the Fall 2025 deadline, yet acknowledged the inherent risks in game development, stating, "Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things." Despite this, he remains optimistic, saying, "We feel really good about it," in reference to the release window. Zelnick avoided specifics on GTA 6's development, emphasizing Rockstar's pursuit of perfection and the competitive nature of the industry. "We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Zelnick highlighted this during the call, stating, "Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as Sid Meier’s Civilization VII launched in Early Access today, with the official launch on February 11th, and we also plan to release Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4 before year-end."
Regarding the commercial potential of these titles, Zelnick expressed high optimism, believing they will significantly impact both their business and the industry at large. "We are exceedingly optimistic about the commercial potential of our titles and believe that they will have a transformative effect on our business – and our industry – over the long term," he stated. The company also anticipates record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2026 and 2027, reflecting their confidence in future growth.
GTA 5 Sold 210 Million Units Worldwide To Date
The GTA franchise remains a powerhouse, with GTA 5 selling over 210 million units worldwide. The game's online component, GTA Online, experienced a successful quarter with the holiday update "Agents of Sabotage." Additionally, GTA+, the membership program for GTA Online, saw a 10% year-to-year increase in its subscriber base.

Speculation has circulated that Steven Ogg, the actor behind Trevor in GTA 5, dislikes being associated with the character. In an interview on the Inside You podcast, Ogg set the record straight. He clarified that the rumors are unfounded, explaining, "When people call you by your character name, it's kinda weird because I kinda get it, but I'm also like meh." Ogg expressed his appreciation for Trevor, stating, "He's a great character. He's awesome. I still see [Fonteno, Franklin's actor] and Ned [Luke, Michael's actor], we're friends. We were just doing a Comic Con this past weekend."
