Locate Mutt, Your Loyal Canine Companion, in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Dogs are invaluable allies in many video games, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is no exception. However, Henry's dog, Mutt, disappears early in the game. This guide details how to find him.

Mutt's Location

While a side quest involves finding Mutt, here's a shortcut. Mutt is near a wolf cave southwest of the Nomads' Camp, just east of the river bathing spot. See the image below for his precise location.

Mutt's Location

The easiest route is fast traveling to the Nomads' Camp. Follow the path southwest into the woods; this will likely lead you directly to the cave. You'll hear Mutt whimpering as you approach. Following the sound will reveal Mutt and some wolves.

Mutt and Wolves

Approaching triggers a cutscene. You'll receive a tutorial on commanding Mutt in combat. You can fight or flee the wolves. Fighting them provides a good opportunity for skill leveling, as wolves aren't overly challenging.

After the wolf encounter, Mutt will be under your control. Hold L1 (while facing him) to interact, feeding him from your inventory or sending him home.

Finding Mutt During "The Invaders" Quest

Interestingly, you might discover the wolf cave while undertaking "The Invaders" quest, specifically if you interact with the Cumans. After drinking with them, Henry follows Vasko uphill for more liquor, leading directly to the cave. This triggers the Mutt/wolves cutscene, but fighting or fleeing while drunk is significantly harder.

It's strongly recommended to rescue Mutt before continuing "The Invaders" quest. Dealing with wolves in the dark while intoxicated is extremely difficult; even fleeing risks a fatal fall.

This concludes the guide on finding Mutt in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Check out The Escapist for more game tips and information.
