"Harry Potter: Magic Awakened EOS Announced: Spells Fail to Impress"

NetEase's enchanting collectible card role-playing game, *Harry Potter: Magic Awakened*, has announced its End of Service (EOS) for certain regions. As of October 29th, 2024, players in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania will see their servers shut down. However, fans in Asia and select Middle East and North Africa (MENA) territories can continue to enjoy the magical world of Hogwarts.

First announced in 2020 during NetEase Games’ annual event and developed by Zen Studio, *Harry Potter: Magic Awakened* made its debut in China in September 2021 with a promising start. Global pre-registrations began in February 2022, but the game faced delays, ultimately launching worldwide on June 27th. Unfortunately, the initial excitement had waned by the time it became available globally.

Why Did They Announce The EOS Of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened?

*Harry Potter: Magic Awakened* offered a unique blend of Clash Royale-style gameplay with a magical twist, allowing players to immerse themselves in the world of wizards through card battles and duels. Initially, fans were drawn to the game's Hogwarts atmosphere and engaging mechanics.

Despite its potential, the game struggled to maintain momentum post-launch. Just over a year after its global release, it's facing closure in several regions. Community feedback on platforms like Reddit highlighted dissatisfaction with the game's shift towards favoring paying players over those relying on skill. A significant point of contention was the reworked rewards system, which previously allowed skilled players to earn better rewards but was altered to slow progression for free-to-play users.

As of August 26th, *Harry Potter: Magic Awakened* has been removed from the Google Play Store in the regions where the EOS is in effect. However, players in unaffected regions can still dive into the game, experiencing life in a dorm, attending magical classes, uncovering secrets, and dueling fellow students.

Before bidding farewell to this magical journey, don't miss out on the upcoming SpongeBob-themed season in *Brawl Stars*, where you can go jellyfishing and explore new adventures!
