Hearthstone Unveils StarCraft Mini-Set: Release Date Announced

Hearthstone enthusiasts are in for a treat with the upcoming Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, set to launch on January 21. This highly anticipated Mini-Set for The Great Dark Beyond expansion marks the largest in Hearthstone history, boasting 49 new cards. These cards are divided into class cards, multi-class StarCraft faction cards, and a unique neutral Legendary card, Grunty, providing a diverse range of gameplay options.

The Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set was first unveiled during the Warcraft Direct on November 13, 2024, showcasing the crossover between Hearthstone and the beloved, yet underappreciated, StarCraft franchise. While initial details were sparse, the full scope of the Mini-Set has now been revealed, two months after its initial announcement. With 11 more cards than the usual Mini-Sets, this expansion brings a new level of excitement to the game.

Each Hearthstone class will receive three new cards, tailored to enhance their playstyle. Additionally, the Mini-Set introduces cards themed around StarCraft's three iconic factions: Zerg, Protoss, and Terran. The Zerg cards, available to Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, emphasize swarm tactics with Zerglings and powerful Hydralisks. Meanwhile, the Protoss cards for Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue focus on mana manipulation to summon high-cost units like the Carrier. Lastly, the Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior classes will gain access to new Starship mechanics, including Starship Pieces and special Mech-type Starships.

The increased size of the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set comes with a slightly higher price tag. Players can purchase a complete playset for $20 or 2500 gold, or opt for the all-Golden version at $80 or 12,000 gold. For those interested in specific factions, individual faction packs are available for $10 or 1200 gold, offering a more focused collection experience.

To celebrate the launch, Hearthstone is hosting two exciting streamed events. StarCast, on January 23 at 10 AM PST, will feature renowned StarCraft players TrumpSC and Day9 showcasing the new cards. Following this, HearthCraft on January 24 at 9 AM PST will see Hearthstone community creators representing each faction in competitive matches and mini-games. Viewers can earn two normal and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs by watching these events on Twitch, making it a must-watch for fans eager to expand their collections.
