Helldivers 2's Truth Enforcers Warbond: A New Arsenal Arrives October 31st
Arrowhead Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment are gearing up to release the Truth Enforcers Warbond, a premium content drop for Helldivers 2, on October 31st, 2024. This substantial update offers a significant arsenal upgrade, providing players with new weapons, armor, and cosmetics to bolster their fight for Super Earth.
This Warbond, accessible through the Acquisitions Center in the Destroyer ship's menu for 1,000 Super Credits, functions similarly to a battle pass. Unlike typical battle passes, however, purchases are permanent, allowing players to unlock content at their own pace.
The Truth Enforcers Warbond focuses on the Ministry of Truth's ideals. New weaponry includes the versatile PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol (offering both rapid-fire and charged shots), the rapid-firing SMG-32 Reprimand submachine gun ideal for close-quarters combat, and the SG-20 Halt shotgun, capable of switching between stun and armor-piercing rounds.
Two new armor sets, the UF-16 Inspector (light armor with a "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape) and the UF-50 Bloodhound (medium armor featuring a "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape), both boast the Unflinching perk, reducing stagger from incoming damage. Additional cosmetic options include banners, patterns for hellpods and exosuits, and a new "At Ease" emote.
A key addition is the Dead Sprint booster, allowing continued sprinting and diving even after stamina depletion, albeit at the cost of health. This high-risk, high-reward feature could prove invaluable in intense combat situations.
Helldivers 2's Player Base and Future Prospects
Despite a strong initial launch with a peak of 458,709 concurrent Steam players (excluding PS5 players), Helldivers 2 has seen a player base decline. This is largely attributed to initial account linking restrictions that locked out players in numerous regions. While Sony reversed this decision, the impact remains.
The August Escalation of Freedom update saw a temporary surge, but player numbers have since settled around 40,000 on Steam (excluding PS5). The Truth Enforcers Warbond's potential to reignite interest and attract returning players remains to be seen, but the new content suggests a promising outlook. The accompanying trailer showcases the exciting additions and hints at the ongoing commitment to enhancing the Helldivers 2 experience.
