Helldivers 2 Update: New Enemies, Weapon Customization, and Superstore Changes

Author : Finn May 15,2025

Helldivers 2 has just rolled out a major new update, patch 01.003.000, bringing an array of exciting features and enhancements to the game. This update is now available on both PC and PlayStation 5, and it introduces new Illuminate enemies, weapon customization, progression systems, and significant changes to the Superstore.

Following intriguing teases from developer Arrowhead, Helldivers 2 has launched a formidable invasion from the Illuminate alien faction. This invasion introduces new enemies, as outlined on the PlayStation Blog. Among them are the Stingray, jetfighters that support the Illuminate from the sky by targeting Helldivers with devastating strafing runs, and the Crescent Overseer, capable of laying barrages on Helldivers in cover. Another new enemy is the Fleshmob, described as a "failed" Illuminate experiment, a brute battlefield force made from Voteless parts that Helldivers must work hard to destroy.

Attention, Helldivers: This is a Galactic Emergency.

The true Illuminate invasion has begun. In a sudden and completely unprovoked offensive manoeuvre, the full Illuminate fleet is emerging from the Meridia Singularity. Nothing is safe - not even the Heart of Democracy itself.
