Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not only elevates the action-packed gameplay but also enhances the depth of weapon and outfit customization. You can tailor one outfit for stealth missions to sneak past machines, while another might be optimized for intense melee or long-range combat. However, there are moments when combining the strengths of multiple outfits would be advantageous. Fortunately, this is possible within certain constraints, as detailed in the following guide.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the benefits of dual outfit effects in Horizon Zero Dawn, you'll need the Remastered edition. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style just to benefit from powerful stats.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To leverage the effects of two outfits, certain conditions must be met. The technique described here isn't universally applicable. While you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of the following:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (exclusive to New Game Plus)
These specific outfits are only accessible within the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you can't employ this method at the game's outset. Thankfully, you don't need to finish the main campaign to explore this expansion.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Start by reaching the expansion area, which requires defeating a new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or enhancing your gear. Once in the area, find a Bluegleam Merchant (indicated by a blue Merchant icon) to purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main mission in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear for this challenging endeavor, or opt for Story mode to complete it more easily and unlock the outfit.
The process for acquiring the Adept version is identical, but it's only available in New Game Plus.
Once you've obtained the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. Further exploration of the Frozen Wilds is optional.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Begin by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. After choosing your primary outfit, utilize the transmog feature to overlay the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. These outfits don't add to your stats but provide automatic healing after sustaining damage for a period.
This approach lets you maintain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing feature of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you become nearly invincible, rarely taking damage, and when you do, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk quickly activates.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits offer quicker healing compared to the Banuk Werak Runner, so prioritize these if available.
