Exciting developments are on the horizon for Disneyland Paris, as Disney Parks Blog has shared new images, details, and a construction start window for the highly anticipated The Lion King ride, set to begin in Fall 2025. This groundbreaking attraction will be the centerpiece of the newly reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World.
The Lion King-themed land promises to be a major attraction, featuring a thrilling water ride that will immerse guests in the iconic moments of the 1994 classic film. The centerpiece of the land will be a majestic 120-foot-high Pride Rock, complemented by an array of dining options, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more.
Disney has released a captivating concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting. This is just one highlight of the ride, which will also feature an exhilarating 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches.
While the exact opening date remains under wraps, the ride is slated to debut following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. The Lion King ride is a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will expand the current park's footprint twofold.
In addition to The Lion King ride and World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another first-of-its-kind attraction themed around Up will offer guests a unique "spinning carousel" experience with panoramic views of the park's breathtaking scenery.
The grand entrance to Disney Adventure World, set to open on May 15, 2025, will be called World Premiere. This entrance aims to recreate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will host theaters showcasing performances such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
