Angry Fans May Quit Infinity Nikki Over Update 1.5 Changes

Author : Camila Jan 19,2026

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have launched on Steam, bringing along a wave of controversy.

Infold Games' fashion-focused adventure game arrived on Valve's platform yesterday after months as an Epic Games Store exclusive. While this should have been a cause for celebration, players instead encountered a cascade of technical problems, confusing design alterations, and demanding gacha mechanics. The developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, but the community remains divided.

Players attempting to enjoy Infinity Nikki's Steam debut faced numerous technical hurdles, from frequent crashes to general instability. While launch issues aren't uncommon, the community's frustrations extend beyond performance problems.

The new five-star outfits - Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember - require collecting 11 pieces each, potentially demanding up to 220 pulls. This unexpected increase from standard set sizes sparked immediate backlash, with players fearing this would become the new norm for premium outfits.

Further complicating matters, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks without clear communication, creating confusion among players. These issues combined with growing concerns over monetization led Chinese players to organize on RedNote, sparking a global movement that includes review bombing and installation boycotts.

"What I'm reminding people of is Chinese players pledging to avoid spending on banners to send a message," explained Reddit user kiaxxl in their call-to-action post. "For gacha games, initial sales determine content success. Temporarily withholding pulls demonstrates our desire for fair gameplay."

The coordinated response has already shown results, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam as disillusioned players warn newcomers about the current state of the game.

Facing mounting pressure, Infold issued an official apology acknowledging the technical issues while promising better communication moving forward. "We sincerely apologize for the unstable experience," read the statement. "Your support helps Nikki continue pushing creative boundaries. Please give us another chance to keep the magic alive."

The studio committed to ending the Mira Crown event on May 16 while offering compensation including 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While welcomed by some, others remain concerned about unaddressed issues.

"I wish you'd adjust the drop rates," tweeted player Denise92. "Needing 200 pulls for a 5-star outfit while releasing multiple banners consecutively isn't sustainable. Either improve rates or increase diamond rewards."

While the community celebrates these initial concessions, boycott organizers emphasize maintaining pressure. As Reddit user EdensAsmr noted: "Accepting 11-piece outfits sets a dangerous precedent. If every major update introduces two such outfits, current saving strategies become obsolete."

Update 1.5 introduces the new Sea of Stars area alongside 100 free pulls. Players can redeem new codes for bonus rewards including Resonance Crystals and Diamonds. For those exploring the new content, community resources like interactive maps help track collection progress.
