Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a "wonderful concept" that never saw the light of day: Resistance 4.
In recent interviews following his retirement announcement after 30 years at Insomniac, founder and outgoing president Ted Price revealed a favorite unmade game: Resistance 4. While a pitch was made, Price explained that "in terms of timing and market opportunity, it just didn’t work out." He expressed the team's passion for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting its compelling alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters developed for the PlayStation 3, depicts an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the success of the Resistance games, Insomniac transitioned to other projects, including the acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank titles.
Price's retirement earlier this year marks the end of an era. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's current and upcoming projects include the recently PC-released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine.
