Misty Island: A Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy Guide
Misty Island, a location pivotal to the plot of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, initially presents a challenge to access. However, for those brave enough to tackle its perils and rewards, this guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough.
Unlocking Misty Island:
To reach Misty Island, you must first assist the fisherman in the Forbidden Jungle, helping him catch 200 pounds of fish. This earns you a Power Cell and access to the Speedboat in Sandover Village, your transport to the island.
The Sculptor's Muse:
Your initial task on Misty Island involves retrieving the Sculptor's Lost Muse – a golden creature resembling Daxter. Located near the docks, the Muse is elusive. You'll need to chase it, utilizing roll jumps and strategically breaking large bones to create pathways. Mastering its movement pattern is key to intercepting it. Once captured, return the Muse to the Sculptor in Sandover Village for another Power Cell (save this for later).
Blue Eco and the First Power Cell:
After retrieving the Muse, locate a section with blue eco orbs leading to a Precursor Door. Collect the blue eco and proceed to the Precursor Platform (see image 3). Charging the platform with blue eco allows you to cross the gap and obtain a Power Cell.
Conquering the Lurker Arena and the Dark Eco Pool:
Next, return to the area where your Misty Island adventure began. Activate the Precursor Door (mentioned above) to enter an arena where you'll face waves of Lurkers. Utilize the red eco they drop and evade the explosive projectiles. Victory unlocks a staircase leading to the Dark Eco Pool and another Power Cell.
The Lurker Ship and Cannon Challenge:
Navigate to Misty Island's Bay and the Lurker Ship. Climb aboard and ascend to the ship's top to claim a Power Cell. Continue upward, dodging logs thrown by Lurkers. Neutralize the two Lurkers guarding the cannon at the top for another Power Cell. Use the cannon to destroy metal boxes in the arena below to collect Precursor Orbs.
Balloon Lurker Elimination:
Use the Zoomer (accessible via a trans-pad near the Lurker Ship) to eliminate five Balloon Lurkers in the bay. Master the Zoomer's controls, using hops for sharp turns and navigating around mines to effectively target the Lurkers. This yields another Power Cell.
Zoomer Power Cell and Scout Flies:
Use the Zoomer to reach a floating Power Cell. Navigate the ramp and surrounding rock formations (images 1 & 2) to reach it.
Finally, locate seven Scout Flies hidden across Misty Island. The first is accessible by using a seesaw and ground pound to reach a higher cliff (see image 1). Two more are found near the arena entrance (see image 2). Others are located near the Lurker Ship, and one is accessible via the Zoomer ramp.
With all Power Cells collected and the Muse returned, your Misty Island adventure concludes.
