The demon hunting is about to get animated as Netflix unveils its latest project: an anime adaptation of the beloved video game series, Devil May Cry. Fans got a thrilling glimpse of what's to come with a brand new trailer that the streaming giant just released. But the excitement doesn't stop there—legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy, known for his iconic portrayal of Batman, will posthumously lend his voice to the series, adding a poignant touch to this much-anticipated release.
In the series, Conroy voices VP Baines, a new character introduced in the opening voiceover of the trailer. Conroy's last acclaimed performance was in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3 in July 2024, and his involvement in Devil May Cry offers fans another chance to appreciate his remarkable talent following his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66. Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch, who voices the protagonist, Dante.
According to Netflix's official synopsis, "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

Adi Shankar, known for his work on films like the 2012 Judge Dredd reboot, Dredd, and the Brad Pitt starrer Killing Them Softly, as well as the Ryan Reynolds film The Voices, will serve as the showrunner for Devil May Cry. Shankar is also attached to an upcoming Assassin’s Creed adaptation, though its release remains uncertain since its announcement in 2017.
The series is being brought to life by Studio Mir, a renowned South Korean studio with a portfolio that includes The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97. Devil May Cry is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025, promising an exhilarating blend of action, drama, and the supernatural.
