Ubisoft's unannounced game, Project U, has been hit with a wave of misfortune as gameplay leaks have plagued its development since as early as 2022, shortly after the closed beta testing began. These leaks have resurfaced two years later, indicating that the project is still in the works. Recently, following what seems to be a reboot of the game’s development, an introductory cinematic has been leaked online.
The origin and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for leaking gaming content. Weber hinted that more videos from Project U could emerge if the game continues in development for an extended period.
Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. According to the leaked footage, the game’s narrative centers on an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players assuming the roles of selected individuals fighting this extraterrestrial menace.
As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official information regarding the formal announcement of Project U.
